Why do we slip on ice while walking? The answers to these question is just the one word i.e. Friction.
When we walk, we apply a push the road back and in turn the road pushes us to the front as per action-reaction principle. Now, it’s the friction that keeps us balanced in all this (else, we should fall due to reaction force).
On a slippery road or ice, the friction is less and hence we fall down.
